The fall-out over the Flint Michigan water crisis continues.

Here’s the backstory: for nearly two years some residents have been exposed to toxic waste levels more than 10 times higher than the EPA limit, leading to lead-contaminated drinking water across the city.

Michigan Governor Rick Snyder has come under intense pressure, with calls for him to resign. President Obama has declared a federal state of emergency.

Yesterday the EPA said it would begin testing the city’s water and ordering an independent review of what happened. But it’s not just Michigan residents who are concerned. People outside of Flint have been lending a helping hand.

Chicago firefighter Eric Washington is one of them. He’s collecting cases of bottled water to send to Flint and joins us to tell us about his effort.
